Ember — a digital scrapbook that allows me to capture, curate and annotate images — has been around for a little over 6 months now. When it first launched, Realmac received much blowback due to the fact that, when compared to LittleSnapper, Ember was a considerable regression in feature set. Ember 1.4.1 – Versatile digital scrapbook. February 7, 2014 Ember (formerly LittleSnapper) is your digital scrapbook of things that inspire you: websites, photos, apps or other things.

Project Summary

Fourth grade students will learn about the ISTE (International Society for Standards in Technology) Standards for Technology and why they are important in education. They will utilize online lessons and research tools to gauge an understanding of the importance of technology standards. The students will work in project teams to dissect and demonstrate an understanding of a single technology standard by creating products that explain and raise awareness of why students would be more versatile in the digital age by knowing the benefits of technology education. TSW have choice and voice to decide which tech tool they would like to use to demonstrate mastery of understanding. The tech tools for this project are Sway & Adobe Spark Video.

RESEARCH STRATEGIES

  • SELECT research questions and search tools. (Select one or more questions that get to the core of what you want to find out in your search. Choose search engines and tools that are most relevant to what you are looking for.)
  • EXTRACT keywords and terms. (Understand that you can find effective keywords by highlighting the key terms from the research questions.)
  • APPLY search strategies. (Apply some of the search strategies– for example, adding quotation marks or a minus sign, or specifying what type of information they need.)
  • RUN your search. (Run a search on the terms you have chosen and review the results and check out multiple sources.)
  • CHART your search. (Avoid repeating work you have already done by jotting down what you've searched for and where you've searched for it.)
